Did you know that the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) estimates that each year more than 130,000 km² of forests are lost due to deforestation, and this causes loss of biodiversity of up to one hundred species per day?
If we would all come to realize that forests are an important producer of the oxygen we breathe on a daily basis, this figure sounds alarming, don’t you think?
At Catalonia Bavaro Beach we organize different activities to be able to reverse this situation, hence why we decided to take advantage of the International Day of Forests, to be able to engage and return a small part to the environment.
We dedicated an entire day planting fruit trees together with our clients. Some of the fruits trees we planted were guayaba, mahogany, mango, cashew, apples, java and avocados.
We love to engage with our environment and we thank our ecological program Eco-Cat that is constantly able to organize different activities throughout the year.
It’s important to highlight the significance of forest resources that contribute to the development of all species.
